Service your HVAC system. Schedule a professional check-up for your heating and cooling systems and ensure your vents are unobstructed. 

Seal windows and doors. Inspect your windows and doors for drafts and reseal or add weatherstripping as needed. 

Plant shade trees. By strategically planting trees, you can take advantage of natural shading to keep your home cool.

Water heaters are big energy consumers. Set your water heater to 120° F and use efficient showerheads to save energy.

Starting today, there is only one peak hour time period: 3 p.m. - 8 p.m. All other hours will be considered off peak. Avoid charging your electric vehicle and using other equipment during peak hours.

Regularly clean and replace filters. Protect your health and save energy by cleaning or replacing HVAC and water filters on schedule or as needed.

Raise your air conditioner thermostat by a few degrees when you’re away. While at home, set your thermostat as high as comfortable – we recommend 78º F or higher. Use a smart thermostat to automatically adjust the temperature.

Use ceiling fans to help distribute cool air. Be sure to set them to a counterclockwise rotation in the summer.
