This reduces energy consumption and improves the system’s longevity, along with many other benefits. Tune-ups may include additional system checks too – all with the goal of keeping you comfortable and worry-free all year long.

Product qualifications

Basic qualifications

  • Must be an existing single-family, manufactured, or multifamily* home; not new construction.
  • Multifamily properties may qualify for a different rebate. View Multifamily rebate details.
  • Must reside in Wyoming and purchase electricity from Rocky Mountain Power on approved rate schedules (see link to the full Qualifications page below).
  • Air Source Heat Pump Tune-Up incentive requires that at least 80% of the home’s conditioned floor area is serviced by a ducted or ductless Air Source Heat Pump.
  • Central Air Conditioner Tune-Up incentive requires that at least 80% of the home’s conditioned floor area is serviced by a Central Air Conditioner.
  • Work must be completed by a program-participating contractor
  • Do-it-yourself tune-ups are not eligible for rebates.

*Tune-ups of Central systems in Multifamily buildings do not qualify.

Application requirements

  • After meeting program qualifications, submit all required documents through the online portal within 90 days of the qualifying service completion.
  • A digital image of your itemized receipt or the confirmation email of your online purchase that includes the manufacturer’s name and model number is required for the application.
  • Your rebate will be issued within 14 business days after we review and approve your application. Missing information may delay processing and delivery.

Requirements for all tune-ups

  • Applies to existing residential air source heat pump or central air conditioning systems
  • Unit must be operational prior to tune-up
  • Measure reflects performance improvement of the existing unit, not replacement
  • Must submit with application
  • Eligible tune-up must include the following actions:
    • Condenser coil cleaning
    • Refrigerant charge measurement
  • Additional recommended maintenance:
    • Air filter replacement
    • Check electrical line loads
    • Refrigerant charge correction (RCA)
    • Airflow measurement and correction
    • Verify thermostat operation per manufacturer specifications
    • Inspect/maintain condenser fan and motor

Additional program rules:

  • HVAC system is eligible for one (1) rebate every three (3) years.
  • Homes applying for tune-ups for more than one HVAC system, please contact the program before applying as additional information is required.
  • If applying for a multifamily property [up to three (3) units per foundation], please submit one application per unit. For properties with four (4) or more units, please view Multifamily rebate details.

Customer eligibility

Residential electric customers residing in the state of Wyoming who purchase their electricity from Rocky Mountain Power on rate schedules 2 or 18 qualify. Landlords who own rental properties served by the company in the state of Wyoming where the tenant is billed on rate schedules 2 or 18 also qualify for this program. You can locate your rate schedule on your bill or by calling 1-888-221-7070.

Application details

Prior to starting a project, find and contact a qualified heating and cooling contractor. Note that some rebates require a qualified contractor to install your new equipment. Review the eligibility requirements, rebate qualifications and the list of required documents with your contractor before submitting your rebate application. Equipment and service work may be inspected for compliance.

Please include the following with your online application:

  • Your Rocky Mountain Power account number.
  • Digital image of your itemized receipt or contractor’s invoice.

Important details:

  • Complete and submit your online application within 90 days of installation.
  • Your rebate will be issued within 14 business days after we review and approve your application. Missing information may delay processing and delivery.
  • Please enter your service address and account number exactly as it’s shown on your bill. You can find this information in the areas indicated below.
